Sometimes it's one moment that changes everything. In Christopher's case, it was a kite accident in the open sea. A borderline dangerous situation. Christopher survived. And turned it into his mission.

As an engineer, he developed what would have given him safety at the time: A system so compact that it could always be with him. So light that you forget it's there. Until the moment it means everything in the water. In 2012, he founded RESTUBE - with the aim of increasing safety in, on and around the water for everyone.

The idea came to life
After a kiteboarding accident, the initial concept of RESTUBE is born – an inflatable safety buoy for water sports enthusiasts. Euphoric cheers at the first activation, proving the simple functionality.
Market entry
The first designs are developed, and production for the market begins. RESTUBE is officially recognized as mandatory safety equipment for the Red Bull Coast 2 Coast kite event.
First Warehouse
With growing demand, RESTUBE needs its own warehouse for production and shipping.
Visibility and Innovation
- Wigald Boning's crossing of Lake Constance demonstrates the applications of RESTUBE.
- For the first time, RESTUBE is exhibited at the international water sports fair "boot."
- The RESTUBE LIFEGUARD is tested – another innovative product for lifeguards.
Big Awards
- RESTUBE receives the German Founder’s Prize and is recognized as an outstanding startup.
- At ISPO, RESTUBE wins the Academy Award in the "Best Product" category.
International recognition
RESTUBE participates in the World Congress on Drowning Prevention (WCDP) in Vancouver, Canada, advocating for greater safety in water sports.
RESTUBE AUTOMATIC is a new innovation: the self-inflating system is activated by contact with water and enables new application scenarios, e.g. for drone-assisted water rescue. The first 20 beaches in Germany and Australia are now guarded by drone-assisted water rescue.
Technological breakthrough
RESTUBE develops the smallest and lightest CE-certified 50N buoyancy aid – an important milestone for mobile safety solutions in water.
Over 200.000 people worldwide
RESTUBE has established itself as a “must-have” in many areas of water sports, especially in the SUP sector in Germany, where it is very present. Over 200,000 people carry a RESTUBE for more safety in the water. More and more often, customers write about how RESTUBE has helped them out of dangerous situations or how they have been able to help others thanks to RESTUBE.
Sustainability and social responsibility
