Is the Drybag 100% waterproof?

The drybags by RESTUBE offer a very high degree of waterproofness, but no 100% guarantee of waterproofness can be given. Drybags are generally designed to protect items from splashing water, rain and even temporary water submersion. To keep sensitive items 100% waterproof, the drybag can be supplemented with the waterproof mobile phone cover by RESTUBE, for example. This fulfils the IPX8 standard and is reliably and safely waterproof. Ideal for phones, car keys or other small items.

What is the best drybag?

The best drybag is the one that meets your requirements! Think about what you want to use the drybag for and what items you want to put in it. At RESTUBE you can choose between 5 different sizes. The smallest drybag holds 5 litres. It is ideal for your ID card, smartphone, small valuables and a bunch of keys. The 10 litres drybag is suitable for energy bars, wallet, sunglasses, small towel and your water bottle. The medium size has 20 litres of space for your items. Clothes, towels, shoes, camera, toiletries and sun cream can be safely stowed in this drybag. With the 30 litres drybag you can bring even more equipment, e.g. foods & drinks or a first-aid-kit. The largest drybag by RESTUBE has 40 litres of space. In this one you can easily pack clothes & shoes for several days or even bring camping equipment with you.

Is the drybag by RESTUBE also available at Decathlon?

Yes, the drybag by RESTUBE is now also available from Decathlon. You can buy the drybag in five different sizes online in the Decathlon webshop Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

How big should a dry bag be?

The size of your drybag depends on what you want to use it for and what items you want to transport with it. We have tested the 5 litres, 10 litres, 20 litres, 30 litres and 40 litres drybags by RESTUBE for you and can make the following recommendations based on our experience: The 5 litres drybag is suitable for your ID card, small valuables, a bunch of keys and your smartphone. You can store a lot more in the 10 litres drybag, for example your wallet, sunglasses, a small towel and your water bottle. In the medium drybag by RESTUBE, which holds 20 litres, you can store a change of clothes, towels, a camera and book, toiletries and sun cream. The 30 litres drybag offers even more space for your gear. You can pack clothes, shoes, towels, some food and drink and a first-aid-kit in it. The largest drybag by RESTUBE holds 40 litres and is ideal if you want to bring multiple things or are planning a longer trip. For example, it can hold clothes and shoes for several days, as well as a towel, food and drink or even some basic camping equipment.

Can I put electronic devices such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop in the drybag?

Drybags primarily offer protection against splashing water and rain and can usually withstand short-term immersion in water. However, they do not fulfil any standard that confirms 100% waterproofness. We therefore advise against storing sensitive items “only” in a drybag. For guaranteed protection, it is best to use one of the IPX8-certified cases from Restube or FIDLOCK. The IPX8 standard belongs to the IP protection classes (Ingress Protection), which specify the degree of protection of electronic devices and housings against the ingress of water and dust.

What is a "Trockentasche"?

Trockentasche is the German term for dry bag. It is a bag that uses waterproof material and a special closure to ensure that your utensils remain protected from water.
