The Safety Buoy for trained lifeguards was developed in close cooperation with lifeguards from the German and Swiss Lifesaving Association. Stowed in its own pouch or attached to equipment, it is immediately ready for use. Due to its compact size, it doesn’t disturb while swimming. The lifeguard can even dive through waves or deep water to reach a person below the water's surface. Pulling the trigger inflates the 80cm long bendable LIFEGUARD buoy within seconds. A buoyancy of 75N is provided to transport a person of any stature.
The signal colour of the buoy and a SOLAS reflector strip ensure high visibility in open water. A 1.80m long leash allows the lifeguard to swim while towing the buoy and victim back to shore. On the 3.8cm wide belt there is a buckle with an emergency release function. This allows the lifeguard to detach completely from the system with just one movement if needed for example: during a swift water rescue. LIFEGUARD is reusable by screwing in a new Restube CO2 replacement cartridge (16g). Lifeguards worldwide use LIFEGUARD in water and swiftwater rescues often as an additional buoyancy aid to remain flexible and respond to different scenarios.

The system should be inspected at least once a year and after each use. The inspection can be carried out by a technically skilled employee of the organization according to the instructions for use and without special tools. It is also possible to send the systems to RESTUBE for a fee of €15 (plus return shipping costs) per Restube for inspection.

This product has convinced me with its compact design. It is very comfortable to wear and immediately ready for use in an emergency. The quality is excellent. The product is particularly well suited as a supplement to conventional rescue equipment on the beach.
We tested the Restube lifeguard in our local DLRG unit. It works excellent similar to a tube (Gurtretter). But users should be trained with the Restube lifeguard (as suggested in the manual) and maintenance should carefully be done by one responsible person.
Im Rahmen der Ausbildung zum Rettungschwimmer (Silder und Gold) haben wir uns vom DRK darüber Gedanken gemacht welches Rettungsmittel wir in Zukunft benutzen wollen.
Der RESTUBE bietet unserer Meinung nach den größten Vorteil gegenüber eines starren Gurtretters darin, dass er bis zur Einsatzstelle klein, kompackt ist und nicht stört.
Natürlich ist dies auch Geschmackssache.
Wir für unseren Teil werden dieses Produkt im Einsatz nutzen.
