Is the safety buoy intended for everyone, regardless of their stature?

RESTUBE ACTIVE, EXTREME, AUTOMATIC and LIFEGUARD have a buoyancy of 75 Newtons, which can lift around 7.5kg out of the water. In a critical situation it is most important that the airways are not submerged, i.e. that the head is above the water up to at least mouth. To do this, about 4kg must be lifted out of the water. If you lean over the buoy, the Safety Buoy´s buoyancy is sufficient. BEACH has a drive of 50 Newtons, which lifts about 5kg out of the water. This is also sufficient for an adult, even if the 75N versions of the saefty buoys are of course a bit more comfortable.

RESTUBE products are mainly produced in Vietnam. The production facility fulfils strict social and environmental standards and is regularly inspected by internal RESTUBE employees as well as external audits. Find out more here.

What is the difference between the BEACH, ACTIVE and EXTREME Safety Buoy?

BEACH has a buoyancy of 50N and is ideal for families, children and seniors for leisure activities on and in the water. It is also suitable for stand up paddlers in swimwear in the summer - wherever there are no swimming aid regulations. ACTIVE has 75N buoyancy and is ideal for swimming or stand-up paddling, for training or competitions. EXTREME has a buoyancy of 75 N and is suitable for rough conditions when kite- and windsurfing, surfing or in professional use.

Can I use the RESTUBE Safety Buoy more than once?

Yes, after replacing the CO2 CARTRIDGE, the Safety Buoy is immediately ready for use again. The sales package contains the safety buoy incl. an original RESTUBE CO2 CARTRIDGE that must be screwed in before use. After use, the safety buoy is very easy to prepare for use again: Deflate, insert a new cartridge, fold the buoyancy chamber according to the printed instructions, and stow the whole thing in the pouch! ATTENTION: Only original RESTUBE CO2 CARTRIDGES are 1.) 100% quality tested, 2.) seawater resistant, 3.) level tested and 4.) the necessary release force is matched to the release. The cartridges comply with the standard for life jackets DIN EN ISO 12402-7. If other cartridges are used, it cannot be guaranteed that the safety buoy will fill without problems in an emergency and the trigger may be damaged.

I am a very good swimmer, so why do I have a need for a Safety Buoy?

Even good swimmers are not immune to an accident or a problematic situation in the water. You can get a cramp or suddenly become exhausted. You can get caught in a current or the weather can change. All these situations can cause you to panic. Additional buoyancy usually relaxes you immediately, allowing you to get your bearings and regain your strength.

Can I take RESTUBE Safety Buoy on the plane?

Yes, the Safety Buoy may be taken on a plane. Depending on the version, original RESTUBE CO2 cartridges contain 16g or 10.9g CO2 and are under pressure. They are considered a hazardous material in air transport. However, according to the IATA and LBA, passengers may take up to two CO2 cartridges with them in combination with the Safety Buoy. Register RESTUBE CO2 cartridges promptly before your trip begins by phone with the airline and carry a written confirmation from the airline (email) and the green flyer during your trip.
