The Floatee ANTI-DROWNING Kids T-Shirt is certified as personal protective equipment under a test protocol based on ISO 12402-4, with a buoyancy of 100 N, and made in France. It's more than swimwear: it's safety for your child. Unlike classic life jackets, which are often heavy and cumbersome, the ANTI-DROWNING t-shirt stays lightweight and fits securely without holding your child back. Worn just like a completely normal t-shirt, with UPF 50+ UV protection and OEKO-TEX certified fabric, from morning to evening, playing by the pool or lakeside, without getting in the way.

The Floatee ANTI-DROWNING Kids T-Shirt is reusable: after activation, a refill kit is all it takes to make it ready again. The t-shirt itself is available in three age-based sizes, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 years, so you can find the right fit.

Can my child wear the Floatee ANIT-DROWNING Kids Shirt to go swimming?

No, Floatee, the ANTI-DROWNING t-shirt, is safety equipment, not swimwear. Take it off your child as soon as you go swimming or bathing, just like a normal t-shirt. The ANTI-DROWNING Shirt has nothing to do with classic swim aids like water wings or swim rings: the two product types serve different purposes.

Does the Floatee the ANTI-DROWNING Kids Shirt trigger in the rain?

No. What matters is direct contact with water, not moisture from outside. Whether it's light rain, water play in the garden or a spilled glass: the trigger only reacts when the shirt actually enters water.

Can I reuse Floatee the ANTI-DROWNING Kids T-Shirt after it's triggered?

Yes, that's exactly what it's built for:

To release the air from the inflated chamber, open the deflation valve at the top of the chamber, just like with water wings or swim rings, and press the air out completely.
Detach the inflatable unit from the t-shirt, then you can wash the fabric part and access the trigger system directly.
To refill, unscrew the cartridge and water sensor and fit the new ones (Recharge 1-6 Years).

Can ANTI-DROWNING T-Shirt go in the washing machine?

Yes. Since the fabric part and inflatable unit detach from each other, you can wash the shirt separately at 30°C. For the first wash, we recommend a short cycle with just the shirt and a colour-catcher sheet. Not sure how to separate the two parts? Watch our video on removing the pressure chamber here.

How do I put the Floatee ANTI-DROWNING T-Shirt on my child?

Put it on just like a regular top, ideally arm first on each side, then over the head and torso. Since the shirt fits snugly, this makes it noticeably easier. You can find a video guide here.

What exactly does the OEKO-TEX certification mean?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 guarantees that the fabrics used are free from substances harmful to health: no allergenic dyes, no carcinogenic azo dyes, no PFAS. An important safety standard for sensitive children's skin.

Can my child wear a jacket or vest over the ANTI-DROWNING Kids T-Shirt in cold weather?

Better not to: an extra layer on top can prevent the rescue system from inflating properly. A thin layer underneath, on the other hand, is not a problem.

Can I take the Anti-Drowning T-shirt Adult and Kids and its refill cartridges on a plane?

Yes, the same rules apply here as for our RESTUBE safety buoys: international regulations allow every passenger to carry an Anti-Drowning T-shirt with up to 2 additional refill kits, on top of the cartridge already fitted in the t-shirt. You'll find more details in the IATA reference tables, under "Gas cartridges, small, non-flammable gas".
