On May 9, 2026, the gravel pit in Malsch became a meeting point for water rescue professionals, emergency responders, and innovators from across Baden-Württemberg. The first RESTUBE Professional Experience Day 2026 focused entirely on modern water rescue technologies – hands-on, realistic, and in direct exchange with the people who save lives every day.
Under the motto “Innovation saves lives – but only when it proves itself in real-world operations”, numerous representatives from emergency response organizations, aid organizations, and water rescue units came together to experience and test the latest technologies live.
Practice Instead of Theory
The gravel pit site provided ideal conditions for realistic demonstrations and exercises. Visitors were able to experience innovative systems directly in action and evaluate their performance under real-world conditions.
Highlights of the day included:
- the first presentation of the water rescue drone
- live demonstrations of the Dolphin 3 water rescue robot
- hands-on product tests and challenges
- an impressive exercise by the ASB Karlsruhe drone unit
- intensive exchange between rescue professionals, manufacturers, and experts
The direct dialogue between developers and users was especially valuable. Many participants took the opportunity to share experiences from real rescue operations and discuss the future of water rescue together.
Strong Partners On Site
Another special highlight was the participation of the the German Air Rescue Service team (DRF Luftrettung), which provided exciting insights into modern air rescue concepts and enriched the professional exchange.

The RESTUBE Professional Experience Day demonstrated how important innovation, networking, and practice-oriented development are for the future of water rescue.
