Successful RESTUBE Deployment with the ADAC Air Rescue Service

Successful RESTUBE Deployment with the ADAC Air Rescue Service

In Berlin-Westend, the German Air Rescue Service recently carried out a remarkable mission: A person had become trapped in swampy terrain, standing waist-deep in water – together with his dog.

The rescue helicopter “Christoph 31” reached the scene within minutes. From above, the crew located the person and guided the Berlin Fire Department and Red Cross teams to the exact position.

To bridge the critical time until ground units arrived, the helicopter crew used an essential tool now carried on board at all ADAC Air Rescue stations: the RESTUBE Emergency Flotation Device AUTOMATIC 75.

The emergency doctor deployed one of the self-inflating buoys from the helicopter. Within seconds, the patient was able to hold onto the buoy, staying afloat and stable until firefighters brought him safely to shore and provided medical care. Fortunately, the dog managed to free itself from the swampy terrain and was recovered unharmed by the rescuers.

Safety for people and animals alike: This mission demonstrates how versatile RESTUBE can be in professional water rescue operations – even under challenging conditions such as swamp and unstable ground.

Today, all ADAC Air Rescue bases are equipped with a Case Set AUTOMATIC 75, containing four units of the RESTUBE AUTOMATIC 75. This enables crews to support several people simultaneously until the full rescue operation is complete.

We sincerely thank the ADAC Air Rescue Service, the Berlin Fire Department, and the Berlin Red Cross for their professional and seamless cooperation. We are proud that RESTUBE could contribute to saving lives.
