RESTUBE and ADAC Air Rescue: A New Milestone in Water Rescue

RESTUBE and ADAC Air Rescue: A New Milestone in Water Rescue

Every year, countless people find themselves in life-threatening situations in lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. In emergencies on the water, every second counts. Together with RESTUBE, ADAC Air Rescue is setting new standards for fast and effective response from the air.

Innovation in Airborne Rescue: RESTUBE as a Passive Flotation Aid

Thanks to RESTUBE’s innovative water rescue system, air rescue teams can now provide even more effective assistance from helicopters. In critical situations where people are in danger, a passive flotation device can be dropped directly from a rescue helicopter. What makes it unique: the RESTUBE AUTOMATIC deploys automatically upon contact with water, helping the person stay afloat until rescue personnel arrive.

Accurate Drops Despite Rotor Downwash

A joint rescue exercise impressively demonstrated that targeted deployment from a height of around nine meters is both precise and reliable. The impact of rotor downwash is minimal, ensuring that the RESTUBE AUTOMATIC lands exactly where it’s needed. This guarantees that people in distress receive help as quickly as possible.

Soon in Use Across Germany

A major step forward: all ADAC air rescue stations across Germany will soon be equipped with RESTUBE’s self-inflating flotation buoys. Each rescue helicopter will carry four buoys in the RESTUBE Case Set I, enabling the team to assist multiple individuals at once. This new equipment allows for faster and more efficient rescue operations in water emergencies.

A Strong Partnership for Greater Safety

The cooperation between RESTUBE and ADAC Air Rescue shows how modern technology can enhance the effectiveness of lifesaving missions. In collaboration with rescue teams on land and water, this initiative is revolutionizing the recovery of drowning victims. It’s a major step forward in water rescue – and a significant contribution to the safety of every individual.

With this partnership, RESTUBE and ADAC Air Rescue are making a clear statement: the future of water rescue is faster, safer, and more efficient – and people in distress can count on swift support from the skies.
