More Safety in the Water: RESTUBE Supports POLITUR Initiative in the Dominican Republic

Water safety is a global issue – especially in places where large numbers of people spend time in and around the water. That’s exactly where we focus our efforts together with local partners: on practical measures that can save lives when it matters most.

A recent example is our collaboration with the tourism police POLITUR in the Dominican Republic.

Working together for safer coastlines

In partnership with Happy Dolphins DR and in close coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, an important step has been taken.

The initiative focuses on three key areas:

  • Equipment: Providing RESTUBE Safety Buoys for rapid response
  • Training: Educating new lifeguards through certified programs
  • Awareness: Promoting safer behavior in and around the water

It’s this combination that creates lasting impact.

Training that saves lives

One important milestone:
20 new scholarships for lifeguard training.

Well-trained lifeguards are essential. They spot risks early, act quickly, and give people confidence in the water.

Real-life practice: Rescue simulation at Playa Encuentro

The importance of preparation became clear during a rescue simulation at Playa Encuentro in Cabarete.

Under realistic conditions, teams trained with RESTUBE equipment:

  • quick activation
  • immediate buoyancy support
  • simple handling – even under stress

Exercises like this strengthen both skills and confidence—for professionals and beachgoers alike.

A shared goal

This initiative shows what’s possible when public institutions, local organizations, and companies work together.

The goal is simple:
Make the Dominican Republic an even safer place in and around the water.

Our contribution

At RESTUBE, we’re proud to be part of this effort.

Because in the end, it’s not about products.
It’s about being able to help in the right moment.

And ultimately: saving lives.
