Recap – 60th Sundschwimmen: An Unforgettable Celebration of Safety

On July 6th, 2025, the moment finally arrived: more than 900 brave swimmers took on the challenge of the 60th edition of the Sundschwimmen, swimming the 2.5 km stretch across the Strelasund from Altefähr to Stralsund. This traditional open-water event in the Baltic Sea has long stood for community, endurance, and a deep passion for open-water swimming.

Safety – Once Again a Top Priority

RESTUBE proudly served as the official safety partner of this year’s event: All participants had the opportunity to start with a RESTUBE ACTIVE. This compact, yellow inflatable buoy can be activated at the pull of a trigger – instantly providing visibility, buoyancy, and peace of mind to continue swimming safely.

Why RESTUBE Made Perfect Sense at Sundschwimmen

1. More Safety Without Limitations

The RESTUBE Safety Buoy is ultra-light, unobtrusive, and tailored for performance – quietly accompanying every swimmer until needed. A single pull – and the buoy inflates. Visibility and support in one compact package, with no interference while swimming.

2. For Body & Mind – Safety That Empowers

Knowing that help is just a pull away gave many participants the mental boost they needed. Fatigue, currents, or disorientation can happen quickly – RESTUBE ensures that no one is ever left alone out on the water.

3. A Symbol of Community & Responsibility

RESTUBE underscored an important message: open-water sports aren’t just about competition – they’re about shared responsibility. At an event where the goal is for everyone to return safely, that message came through loud and clear.

Safety as the Key to a Great Experience

The 60th Sundschwimmen wasn’t just about celebration and endurance – it became a shining example of how to integrate smart safety solutions into open-water events. RESTUBE showed that support doesn’t slow you down – it sets you free.

The combination of tradition and innovation made this anniversary event truly special. Without RESTUBE’s dedication and the courage of every single participant, the event would not have been what it was: an impressive open-water celebration where safety is simply part of the culture.

We’re already looking forward to many more years where tradition meets foresight – because swimming should be more than just fun. It should make you feel truly alive.
