This past weekend, the small harbor of Lauterbach on Rügen turned into a sea of excitement, anticipation, and sporting spirit. At the traditional Vilm Swim, hundreds of swimmers set out across the Baltic Sea – heading toward the unique island of Vilm, renowned for its wild beauty and untouched nature.
A swim full of emotions
The two-kilometer stretch was no easy task: open water, waves, and distance all came together to form a true challenge. But it was exactly this mix of struggle and freedom that made the Vilm Swim so special. For many, it was the very first time experiencing what it means to move through the sea with nothing but their own strength – carried by the water, cheered on by the crowd, and lifted by the spirit of community.
Safety that gives you freedom
To make sure everyone could enjoy this adventure with peace of mind, RESTUBE was there as SAFETY PARTNER. The small, lightweight system worn on the belt can be inflated into a buoy in seconds if needed – offering safety and confidence in the water. For many participants, RESTUBE made all the difference: instead of fearing the open sea, they felt free to focus entirely on the experience.
Together with the DLRG lifeguards and boat support crews, an invisible but powerful safety net surrounded the swimmers. Safety doesn’t mean restriction – it means freedom. That’s exactly what RESTUBE stands for.
Gratitude and goosebump moments
At the finish line on Vilm Island, the atmosphere was electric: exhausted yet radiant faces, proud finishers, and countless swimmers who had surpassed their own limits. Over and over again, one sentence could be heard: “With RESTUBE I felt safe – it gave me courage.”
Conclusion
The Vilm Swim 2025 was so much more than a sporting event. It was a day of courage, community, and connection with nature. RESTUBE is proud to have been part of this unforgettable experience – and is already looking forward to empowering more people to enjoy freedom in the water.
